Tell us a little about yourself and your family.
My husband, Josh, and I live in Arcadia with our two boys, Ollie and Teddy, and our Bernedoodle, Dash. I’m the owner of Something Darling Events, where I design and plan celebrations throughout Arizona. Between running my business and raising two energetic boys, our home is truly our happy place!
How would you describe the style of your home in three words?
Timeless. Cozy. Collected.
Is there a piece of art, furniture, or décor in your home that has a special story behind it?
One of my favorite features in our home is our growing gallery wall. It continues to evolve alongside our family, our travels, and the different seasons of life. I love adding pieces over time that tell our story and make our home feel uniquely ours.
Where do you spend most of your time at home?
Definitely our kitchen and family room. Whether I’m making dinner, working on event designs at the kitchen island, or watching the boys play, it’s where we naturally gather. It truly is the heart of our home.
What is your favorite way to gather or entertain in this space?
As an event planner, hosting is one of my favorite things to do. When the weather is nice, I love having family and friends over for dinner in the backyard under the string lights, then moving inside for dessert while everyone gathers around the kitchen and family room and the kids play together. Those kind of evenings are my favorite!
What are some of your favorite everyday rituals or routines that happen here?
Our mornings are usually a whirlwind, so I really treasure our evenings. After the boys go to bed, we tidy up the house, dim the lights, light a candle, and unwind together on the couch with a show. There’s something about ending the day in a clean, cozy home that helps me relax.
What is one design tip or lesson you’ve learned while creating your home?
Don’t rush it. Invest in quality foundational pieces you truly love, then let your home evolve naturally with unique finds, artwork, and meaningful pieces.
What are your favorite local businesses, makers, or sources for home inspiration?
Phoenix has such an incredible design community. One of my favorite local shops is Found Arcadia. Not only have I found beautiful pieces there, but I also draw so much inspiration from the way they style the store. I love their mix of vintage finds, antiques, and new pieces.
What’s next for this space? Any future dreams or projects on the horizon?
I don’t think a home is ever truly finished. My dream project would be expanding our primary closet. Right now it’s on the smaller side, and as someone who loves fashion, I’d love to create a space that’s both beautiful and functional. I’m envisioning double doors, a center island, and plenty of room to organize and display my handbags, shoes, and favorite pieces.
